Watch Enemies Closer

reKlaim 26 is a youth-led initiative designed to spark environmental responsibility and action across college campuses. Its core objective is to involve students directly in waste management practices, encourage sustainable habits, and build a culture of collective effort toward a cleaner and greener future.

By focusing on discarded plastic and paper, the most common form of urban waste, the programmer offers young people a hands-on pathway to understand the impact of waste and the possibilities of recycling and reuse.

Phase 1 - COLLECT AND COMPETE

The initial phase of reKlaim will be rolled out early in 2026 and will include a series of awareness programmes, workshops, and intercollege competitions. These activities are designed to highlight the sustainable benefits of circular economy practices and the opportunities they present for social entrepreneurship.

The launch ceremony will be followed by an inter-college competition encouraging students to collect discarded plastic waste for organised recycling.

PHASE 2 - SUSTAIN

This phase will shift the focus from collection to creation.
Selected teams will evolve into college-based Waste-toWealth Societies—social entrepreneurship groups that champion the circular economy. These societies will convert collected waste into useful merchandise, host regular workshops on waste management and value creation, and build a financially self-sustaining model. Wherever feasible, they will be included as a part of the incubation cell of the institute.
This way the colleges will get exposure to sustainable entrepreneurship

Our Working Process

From collection to circular economy, we bridge the gap between waste and wealth.
We unite youth, academia, and industry to turn the ‘foe’
of plastic into a friend of the future

Campaign

youth-led initiative to spark environmental responsibility
and action across college campuses.

West Bengal generates roughly 300,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually, and with only 8% of India’s consumed plastic historically recycled, strict Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) rules now mandate increasing recycling obligations to 30–50% by 2024–25 and 60–80% by 2027–28

2

Target Audience

youth-led initiative to spark environmental responsibility
and action across college campuses.

We primarily engage college students and youth as the active drivers of change, while partnering with academic institutions, civil society, and corporate bodies to create a unified ecosystem for sustainable waste management

3

collect and compete

will conclude with a high-profile Award Show attended by notable city personalities.

A grand launch kicks off a 2-week inter-college competition where teams collect plastic and paper waste. Weekly tracking drives engagement and recycling awareness, culminating in a high-profile Award Show for the winners

Sustainability isn’t a solo fix

Sustainability isn’t a quick fix. Isolated actions often shift problems instead of solving them. Real impact needs long-term, connected thinking that balances the environment, society, and the economy. When planet, people, and profit move together, sustainability stops being a buzzword and starts becoming a system that actually works.

Make Your Enemies Work Longer

Plastic won’t disappear—but our mindset can change. Instead of treating plastic as waste, recycling forces it to work longer, creating value, jobs, and impact. By shifting from a take-and-dump culture to a circular economy, we turn an environmental threat into a sustainable opportunity for India’s future.

Your Home Is Society Too

Social impact doesn’t begin in NGOs or boardrooms. It begins at home. Families are society’s smallest units, and stability fuels impact. Doing good should not mean living insecure. Profit isn’t greed—it’s sustainability. When purpose and income align, social work lasts longer, attracts talent, and builds stronger communities.
